THE CLIMATE IN CENTRAL QUEENSLAND

Central Queensland’s climate is sub-tropical with hot-humid summers and mild winters.

Average summer temperatures range vastly between coastal centres and highland location, with averages showing figures of between 20 to 28 degrees Celsius in summer and 9 and 20 degrees in winter, but residents and visitors can expect summer temperatures higher than 35 degrees Celsius between December and February and hinterland winter temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius during the evening in winter.
